We can come to you and train in your home, or the environment where the problem occurs. We work with you and your whole family and believe in training the whole dog, from nutrition to pack management. Let us help you get a good start with your puppy, so you don't need behavior modification later on.  We help you find ways to bring out good behavior that can then be reinforced. This approach is easier, more successful, and less stressful for both you and your pet. 

I also routinely use my pack to assist in the training of young dogs, or dogs that have lost all their manners.  It is actually amazing to watch and I never tire of it.  Just one hour with the pack, works as well as many hours with a trainer.    

During a Home Visit we’ll:
Interview you so we can get to know you and your dog. We will want to know about:

* Your dog’s history, daily routines and history/relationship with you
* What your specific problems are, and how your dog behaves in different situations
* Where and when does your dog’s behavior occur

What you have done to correct the problem

* We will observe your dog in his natural environment.
* It is helpful to see the dog interact with you, and observe his general temperament
* We will observe the problem if needed or necessary.
* It is also helpful to see how your dog interacts with us.

We will utilize all the above information to analyze your dog’s problem.

* Why the problem developed
* What is feeding the behavior
* How to change the behavior

We will develop and provide you with a custom behavior modification plan that may include changes to your pet’s environment

* This may require structured “practice sessions’ to correct a problem
* It may also require a change of routine, or how you interact with your dog.

You will receive two weeks of telephone or email support after each session.  So I like for you to work on what you have learned for at least that long, but longer is okay as well.  During the two weeks I will:

* Answer questions
* Make sure you continue on the right track
* Fine-tune” your custom plan

After your two weeks is out, if you require phone consult please check under services so you can become familiar with that service.  I will however, not mind answering some simple questions via email, but if you require more detailed answer, please become familiar with that service.  

In-home sessions/consultation require a minimum of an hour, and on average will last one to four hours, depending on how many dogs, and family members there are, and what we need to achieve. 

FEES 

• The normal hourly fee is $60, and after the first hour your fee can be broken up into 15-minute increments, at $15.00 a quarter hour.

• The normal six-hour program fee is $300, which is $50 per hour, so you get an hour extra by committing to the six hour program.  

• Aggressive dog program fee is $450, and includes six hours of work, the report, and after support.  That is $75 per hour.  This increase is due to the increased danger of working with aggressive dogs.

• Your home call fee or other location is based on travel time at $10 per 15 minutes round trip.  I am pretty central and can get to most places in the Tidewater area in 30 to 45 minutes.  The average house call fee is $40 to $60.  There is no extra fee when you come to me.   

When you start your six-hour program you can use the hours in six one-hour sessions or three two-hour sessions, or at times it might be four hours at one time, and two the next.  How many hours we use the first time will depend on your issues, and goals.  We can work with one dog, two dogs, or your whole pack.  We can work with any household member including your children, which I especially like.  If you come to my farm there are no additional fees, and if I come to you, the "travel time" fee will apply.
